This is an important announcement from the Lynnfield Center Water District.
The District will conduct “Fire Flow” testing and water main flushing of the distribution system in conjunction with the Lynnfield Fire Department on both Monday, July 20, 2015 and Wednesday, July 22, 2015 between the hours of 10AM and 3PM. This is part of the ongoing hydrological survey project being conducted by the District’s engineering firm CDM Smith.
Many residents will experience discolored water, which should clear after running their cold water at the highest faucet within their house for a short period of time. Residents are also advised to avoid doing laundry during the flushing period and to check their water after the day’s flushing period before starting their washing machine. If a customer experiences lower pressure at their faucet after the flushing, they should check the faucet screen for particles which may have collected and clean out if necessary.
